Good day, heart.
Price increase from May 9th at Maya Munay
Aloha dear cocoa lovers from Maya Munay,
We experience relationships that we continue to cultivate today. We share cacao with each other, celebrate, and love. Maya Munay's Cacao from Venezuela project is only possible with you, your encouragement, and your support.

The picture above shows beautiful people from Macuro putting cacao to dry on their pathway in front of their house. On the bottom left we see a small helper to catch insects that would limit the growth of cacao. As the aboriginal people would comment: "There are no freaks, misfits or accidents in this world, only things that are not understood yet."
Challenge for Maya Munay
– current world market situation
As a small company, we are currently facing a
new financial and economic challenge due to the multiple increase in cocoa prices on the world market.
The price has more than quadrupled since the end of last year (see chart).
This is largely due to harvest declines of up to 40% in the main producing areas in West Africa, which account for almost 73% of global production volume.
The reasons for the decline are manifold:
Monocultures, pest infestation, chemical use, and reduced rainfall (this also partially affects South America, where the decline in the last harvest was approximately 10-20%).
The costs alone for our cocoa from the farm in Venezuela, further processed into cocoa mass on site, all the way to our hearts in Germany, have not only doubled, but have now tripled – and the trend is rising.
The next major harvest in Africa usually takes place in October and will again determine future price developments. Although producers are likely to be taking measures now, these will take time before they have a lasting impact on production. It is therefore
It can be assumed that the price of cocoa will continue to rise in the near future.

Maya Munay and the Consequences I
Currently, a small portion goes towards our salaries and the largest portion goes towards our cocoa project in Macuro, Venezuela and towards the repurchase of cocoa.
In light of this current development and the lack of prospect that this development will stabilize in the near future, we have decided to temporarily lower our price on 09.05.2024 to
66.66 € / kg
Further price adjustments may be made in the future depending on possible cost developments.
We ask for your understanding and hope for your continued support. Maya Munay welcomes this price increase, which is now also leading to some of the price increase being passed on to farmers, at least in South America.
Wonderful!

Maya Munay and the Consequences II
This will likely lead to cocoa being more valued worldwide, and farmers will receive the appreciation and goodwill they deserve for their love and time!
In South America, the crop loss is currently more than compensated for by the increased revenue. However, even here, harvest declines tend to be due to lower water quantities and, to a lesser extent, pest infestation.
Ultimately, of course, the so-called cocoa lovers, as well as the uncertain climate and measures currently being taken by producers (which take time to take effect – increasing harvest yields), will decide on the future development of the cocoa price and also of Maya Munay.
Thank you for your time and awareness;
Connected in love with cocoa and hearts
