View of Macuro
The place where Columbus first landed - wow.
The tranquil little town of Macuro, in the far east of Venezuela. How idyllic, natural, and unspoiled it must be!
Ceremonial cacao forest
That's exactly where it lies - the ceremonial cacao forest.
222 cocoa plants grow there among shady coconut palms and banana trees, protected by fire and lovingly blessed, watered, and nourished by the villagers.
Structure according to the Mayan number system
The creation of our cacao ceremonial forest
When it came to designing our cacao ceremony forest , I followed an inner prompting:
The structure should be based on the energetic number system of the Mayans .
In the Mayan cosmovision – their astrology, mathematics, architecture, and even their understanding of the human body – the numbers 7, 13, and 20 play a central role. They represent harmony between the worlds, cycles, creation, and balance.
At the center of our forest is therefore a cacao tree with the energy of the guardian – a symbol for the connection between heaven, Mother Earth and all of creation .
Around this central point, we planted more cacao trees in concentric circles , each spaced about four meters apart – right up to the edge of our “jungle field”.
This resulted in five circles with 7, 13, 20, 33 and 40 trees , which resonate with each other and form a living energetic field.
Since our site is rectangular, the outer circles flow out into gentle semicircles on the sides.
Outside the field , four guardians, each assigned to one of the cardinal directions , stand watch. They too have been blessed, prayed over, and connected with the corresponding energies to protect and harmonize the field.
Trees with the names and intentions of the sponsors
With your intention, you can give the saplings further strength and blessings, which are placed on and in the tree along with your name.
With love and blessings, the children in Macuro paint the stones with us.
Most recently, with the help of the children in the village of Macuro, we collected stones on the beach and inscribed them with the names and intentions of the tree sponsors. A beautiful co-creation.
David plays the gong in the Ceremonial Forest for all energies and entities.
To the sounds of the gong, the stones found their perfect cacao tree.
The cocoa is dried naturally in the sun in front of the house in Macuro.
With your support, we will grow a cacao tree and simultaneously work towards a better future for cacao farming families. In Macuro, many families depend on cultivating and harvesting cacao for their livelihood. However, their challenge often lies in selling their beans for a sufficiently high price.
Harvesting together in the jungle
By sponsoring a tree, you support our vision of establishing a value creation center for farming families in Macuro. The cocoa is harvested and processed by hand by local farmers and is characterized by its mild, delicate, full-bodied flavor and high quality.
